Do you lose things in your freezer? Forget what is in there? This is costing you money and time.
Here is what to do. You will need post its, a sharpie, masking tape, and freezer containers.
When you cook or bake something that you know will produce leftovers, whether on purpose or by chance, be prepared with proper freezer containers before you start.
When you are ready to freeze, mark each container with contents, date, and quantity. Frozen food does not look like it did and if you don’t know what it is you won’t eat it.
The date is to let you know when you are getting close to the expiration of the item. And the quantity let’s you plan the right number of servings into your meal plans.
Before you place a labeled item into the freezer, record it on the post it note and affix it to the freezer door. When your take the item out, cross it off.
When you can barely read it because it is mostly crossed off, copy any stragglers over to a new post it and start the process again.
If you are consistent with this you will save the time and money you put into the dish.
No more 'my freezer is a time capsule'. Love this!!!
